Climate Crisis Parade Highlights

On February 1, 2020, over 1,000 people marched through downtown Des Moines, from Cowles Commons to the Iowa Events Center, to bring media attention to the climate crisis. Over 70 organizations worked together to make this event happen. It was scheduled just before the Iowa Caucuses to take advantage of the national media gathered here. Stop Eminent Domain Abuse Roadshow Starts in Montezuma

Bold Iowa and its partners are bringing a community forum to many towns across Iowa this summer.  The first event was held in Montezuma, Iowa, on April 21, at the Montezuma Public Library. The community forum highlights two items. Supporting Landowners in Resisting the Dakota Access Pipeline

Bold Iowa and its partners have been supporting landowners.  Here are some of videos where we have been making their voices heard.  We reached out to them at their farms, organized to have petitions signed, held press conferences and rallied at the Iowa Utilities Board, led a campaign of civil disobedience, and educate others about the landowner/Sierra Club lawsuit. First Nation – Farmer Climate Unity March

September 1 – 8, 2018 Landowners who had their property taken by force for the Dakota Access Pipeline have joined with the Iowa Sierra Club in a lawsuit against the Iowa Utilities Board (IUB). They allege that the IUB illegally allowed Energy Transfer Partners (ETP) to use eminent domain to build the Dakota Access Pipeline. Their case is strong and has potentially historic significance.
